“Dean Jean,” as Dr. Jean Danielson was affectionately known, devoted her career to teaching and mentoring Tulane students as they sought challenging opportunities inside and outside the classroom. Dr. Danielson was an associate professor of political science and also directed the Newcomb-Tulane College Honors Program for 14 years, spending countless hours counseling students and working on their behalf.
To honor her legacy, The Office of Academic Enrichment invites rising sophomore, junior and senior students to apply for funds for research or other field experience that shares Professor Danielson’s commitment to living a life of purpose and intellectual vigor.
Funding
You can receive up to $2000 for your project with this fund.
In the past, funds have been used for:
- Housing.
- Travel expenses.
- Equipment for field research.
Requirements and Eligibility
- You must submit a statement of purpose that is no more than 1000 words, a detailed budget which includes other funding you have available for this project (ex: an internship stipend or free housing), contact information for three faculty recommendations, and a resume with your application.
- You must be an undergraduate student in good academic standing and conduct.
