The Summer Research Fund

The Summer Research Fund is an opportunity for students to work with a Tulane professor on a scholarly project for six weeks during the summer.

It is great for all students interested in research, regardless of their experience; for students new to research or already working with a faculty mentor. Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors across Tulane’s five schools are welcome to apply. You can earn up to $1000 for housing, $1000 for your research costs, and $1000 for your PI/professor involved in your research.

Funding

Funding includes housing and a stipend, so students can focus on this enhanced academic experience. The program supports six weeks of research on the Tulane campus, supervised by a Tulane faculty member.Students meet as a community periodically throughout the six–week period to reflect upon the research process and provide support for one another.

  • You must submit a cover letter that is no more than 1000 words and a letter of support from the faculty member or principal investigator you plan to collaborate with. For application deadlines and further instructions, see the NTC Grants webpage.
